ANERT floats bids for 1.25 MW of rooftop solar projects

Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) has issued a request for proposals for 1.25 MW of rooftop solar systems in Thiruvananthapuram. The projects will be built as part of the Solar City initiative, which is being funded by Smart City Thiruvananthapuram. The scope of the work under the project comprises grid-connected rooftop solar power project design, supply, engineering, erection, testing, and commissioning, as well as 10 years of operation and maintenance.

According to the tender guidelines, the successful bidder must deposit 3 per cent of the contract amount as a bank guarantee which will be reimbursed after the commercial operation date. Also, the solar modules of the mono-PERC type with a capacity of 500 Wp or above should be utilised for the projects. The modules must be guaranteed for ten years, with an output peak watt capacity of at least 90 per cent after ten years and 80 per cent after 25 years. The project commission can be extended by 25 per cent of the initial time. The bid submission deadline is May 10, 2023.

In February 2023, ANERT floated bids to establish rooftop solar projects in Thiruvananthapuram. The project will have a total capacity of 100 MW. The scope of work of the project includes supplying, installing, and commissioning multiple solar power systems ranging from 1 kW to 500 kW across public buildings in Thiruvananthapuram.
