India has embarked on an energy transition journey in the background of its ambitious climate commitments. It is imperative that this transition be gender inclusive to bring in the transformational shift required to achieve the desired clean energy targets. The focus so far has primarily been on what clean energy access can do for women as end-users, however, it is now important to shift the narrative toward what women can further do for the growth of clean energy.
In this context, Renewable Watch organised a roundtable on April 19, 2023, to provide an understanding of the status, opportunities, and challenges for women in clean energy.
The speakers included:
- Ritu Lal, Client Partner, Infrastructure & Energy Practice, Amrop India
- Anupama Ratta, Head of Human Resources, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited
- Sushmita R. Ajwani, Director, Power and Renewables, ICF International
- Prarthana Borah, Director, CDP
- Anvesha Paresh Thakker, Partner & National Lead- Clean Energy, KPMG India
