HPPC floats bids to procure 500 MW of solar power

Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) has floated a tender to acquire up to 500 MW of solar power from grid-connected photovoltaic projects in Haryana. HPPC will select bids to establish solar power plants in Haryana. The scope of work under the project comprises project design, financing, land acquisition, engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance.

According to the tender guidelines, a bidder may propose projects at several sites as long as each project has a minimum capacity of 1 MW and the total capacity offered does not exceed 10 MW.

The solar projects with a total capacity of 500 MW and up to a maximum of 10 MW from a single bidder will be selected through e-bidding followed by an e-reverse auction. The successful bidders will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with HPPC. Projects that are under construction or have not yet been commissioned will be eligible.

In March 2022, JSW Energy signed a PPA with HPPC for its 240 MW Kutehr hydro project in Himachal Pradesh. The power supply agreement will be valid for 35 years.
