Sterling and Wilson bags rural electrification projects

Sterling and Wilson, a major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm in India, said today that it has won three new rural electrification projects worth Rs 10.8 billion. It obtained these turnkey projects through the Distribution Sector Revamped Reforms-based and Results-Linked Scheme. The initiatives attempt to build distribution infrastructure in the electric supply circle and the projects will take time of 30 months for completion.

The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited has awarded one project in the Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. The other two orders were given to South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited in the districts of Nalanda and Gaya in Bihar. 

In March 2023, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited was awarded the balance-of-systems package for 1.2 GW of solar projects in Gujarat. The package includes four 300 MW (AC) blocks in NTPC Renewable Energy’s proposed 1.2 GW solar PV project at Khavda renewable energy park in Rann of Kutch.

Also, in September 2022, Along with its consortium partner, Sun Africa, Sterling and Wilson Solar Solutions, the US-based company of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWRE), has signed an agreement with the Nigerian government to construct solar and storage projects in Nigeria.
