NHPC floats EPC tenders for 350 MW of floating solar

NHPC Limited has requested domestic proposals to establish a 300 MW floating solar power plant in Odisha on a turnkey basis. The facility will be built near the Rengali Reservoir in the Angul area. The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) completion period is 21 months.

The scope of work for the potential contractor includes EPC of the 300 MW floating solar plant as well as the accompanying 220 kV transmission line for connectivity at the 400 kV grid substation. It will also be in charge of full operation and maintenance for the first five years after the project is completed. The bid submission deadline is May 17,2023.

In August 2022, NHPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Rajasthan for establishing a 10,000 MW ultra-mega renewable energy power park. The MoU seeks to optimise the resources and knowledge base shared by both parties.
