NLC India floats bids for 200 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects

NLC India has requested proposals for the development of 200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects across India. The project must be completed within 15 months after the award letter’s date. The selected bidder will be responsible for the project’s operation and maintenance for three years. Bidders must submit a bid security of Rs 54.7 million.

Bidders must have completed contracts for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of grid-connected solar power projects with a total installed capacity of 10 MW or greater during the last seven years. Out of the total capacity, at least one project of 5 MW or greater capacity in a single location shall have been in successful operation for at least six months as of the bid opening date. The deadline for proposal submissions is May 9, 2023

In August 2022, NLC India signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL). The MoU intends to expand its operations in the north-east region of India. NLCIL, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, and APDCL, wholly owned by the Government of Assam, have decided to form a joint venture company with 51 percent equity participation by NLCIL and remaining by APDCL.
