Amp Energy India wins 1 GW cell and module manufacturing capacity under SECI’s PLI scheme

Amp Energy India Private Limited through its subsidiary AMPIN Solar One has won 1 GW capacity for integrating cell and module  manufacturing under Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI)’s performance-linked incentive (PLI) program Tranche II for integrating cell and module manufacturing. SECI declared the winners who will be eligible to receive a total of Rs 139.4 billion under Tranche II of the PLI program to manufacture 39.6 GW of solar modules.

AMPIN Solar One has won 1 GW for Basket 3 and will be eligible to receive amaximum incentive of Rs 1.4 billion. The PLI scheme has boosted the government’s efforts to reduce not only the impact of global supply chain shocks but also reduce our import dependence. The company’s entry into manufacturing will help it gain better control over the supply chain for critical components.

In February 2023, Amp Energy India completed a 5 MW solar power plant for BSV, a vaccine pharmaceutical major. This solar project completed in the fourth quarter of 2022 will be supplying solar power to BSV’s manufacturing facility in Ambernath, Maharashtra from Amp’s open access facility in Osmanabad district, Maharashtra.
