TPREL secures LoA for 200 MW solar PV project in Solapur

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has received a ‘letter of award’ (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to set up a 200 MW solar photovoltaic project in Solapur, Maharashtra.

The project will be commissioned within 18 months from the power purchase agreement’s (PPA) execution date. The project was awarded through competitive bidding and was followed by a reverse e-auction. The installation will reduce around 432.94 Mn. kg of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

With this win, the total renewables capacity of TPREL reaches 6,503MW with a total installed capacity of 3,909 MW out of which solar is 2,981 MW and wind is 928 MW. However, 2,594 MW is still under various stages of implementation.

Recently, TPREL signed a PPA with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) for 510 MW hybrid projects. The project will help to save an average of 1,540 MUs of carbon dioxide emissions annually for Tata Power-DDL.
