GAIL India Limited, a government-owned natural gas company has signed an agreement with Shell Energy India to explore opportunities across the energy value chain.The MoU intends to investigate opportunities in the import and handling of various hydrocarbons that are important chemical and petrochemical precursors, LNG for road transport, regasification of imported LNG, renewables, and other areas.
In December 2022, Cummins announced a partnership with Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL), an Indian subsidiary of the Maire Tecnimont Group, to build a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser for the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) to produce green hydrogen in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh.
Also, in November 2022, GAIL and Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together for opportunities in the renewable energy space. The MoU intends to work on new projects and decarbonisation efforts and liquefied natural gas supply. The collaboration will also review joint equity investments in renewable energy.
