The Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) has issued a request for proposals for the construction of solar power projects totaling 1,200 MW anywhere in India with a committed supply from an energy storage system for at least six hours during peak demand periods. As per the tender guidelines, the bidders must provide Rs 1.2 million per MW.
Also, before signing the power purchase agreement, the winning bidder must provide a performance bank guarantee in the amount of Rs 1.8 million per MW of the project. RUVNL will use the power generated by these projects to meet its renewable purchase obligation targets.
Projects that have already been commissioned will not be considered for this tender. The minimum capacity for each project will be 50 MW. The total capacity of solar projects available to bidders will be limited to 1,200 MW. To reduce technology risk and ensure timely project commissioning, only commercially established and functional technologies will be used for the projects. The bid submission deadline is April 17, 2023.
In January 2023, RUVNL floated bids for the development of 1 GW of STU-connected solar power projects in the state. According to the tender guidelines, bidders must pay a bid processing fee of Rs 0.5 million for projects ranging from 50 MW to 99 MW and Rs 1.5 million for projects ranging from 100 MW and above.
