NTPC REL to enlist consultants for green ammonia feasibility studies

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has floated bids to enlist technical consultants for green ammonia feasibility studies. The scope of work of the project includes feasibility studies to determine the capital, operational, and gestation period requirements for green ammonia projects. Also, it has been anticipated that the consultant will determine the optimal levelised cost of green ammonia.

As per the tender guidelines, bidders must have completed a feasibility study, front-end engineering design, or engineering procurement and construction management project for green ammonia production for at least 10 tons per day in a single work and location within the past three years. Additionally, they should have completed a green hydrogen production feasibility study, front-end engineering design, or engineering procurement and construction management work for a minimum of 2 tons per day in a single location over the past five years. The bid submission deadline is April 7, 2023.

Recently, in February 2023, NTPC REL issued a request for proposals for the development of 310 MW floating and ground-mounted solar projects at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) reservoirs. The tender was released on behalf of Green Valley Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC REL in a joint venture with DVC.

In the same month, NTPC REL floated bids for a 500 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar project to be set up anywhere in India. The scope of work also includes the operations and maintenance of the solar projects for three years from the date of commissioning, including the switchyard and power evacuation system until the interconnecting grid substation.
