Amplus Solar to set up 200 MWp wind and solar hybrid project in Tamil Nadu

Amplus Solar announced an association with EverRenew, an NTC group company to set up a 200 MWp open-access solar power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, India. The plant is expected to generate approximately 450 million units of green electricity in the first year of its operation. The hybrid plant will combine power from co-located solar panels and wind turbines to produce an uninterrupted supply of green energy for commercial and industrial consumers in the state.

Amplus Solar has also diversified into new avenues such as battery storage, residential solar, and electric vehicle-based logistics solutions. Amplus Solar’s operational plants are expected to cumulatively generate 22 billion units of electricity over their lifetime.

Recently,  in February 2023, Amplus Solar signed a power purchase agreement to supply 56 MW of solar power to JK Lakshmi Cement’s cement facility in Durg, Chhattisgarh. It will build a photovoltaic plant to provide open access power, allowing JK Lakshmi Cement to replace 92 million units with green electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 88,352 metric tonnes in the first year alone. The Durg facility will meet nearly 80 per cent of its energy needs through renewable sources after switching to solar energy.
