ArcLight Capital Partners sells Great River Hydro for $2 billion in US

ArcLight Capital Partners and its affiliates have sold the Great River Hydro project in the US to a Hydro-Québec partner for around $2 billion. According to ArcLight, the acquisition for the infrastructure platform for renewable energy concluded on February 10, 2023. The Great River Hydro will be purchased by HQI US Holding, a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec, in October 2022.

Great River Hydro owns 13 hydroelectric generating stations with a total capacity of 589MW along the Connecticut and Deerfield rivers in New England. The platform has the largest conventional hydropower portfolio in New England together with co-located battery storage and solar development projects. It provided fossil-free energy to the area’s electrical market while it was owned by ArcLight.

In August 2022, Sequitur Renewables, a subsidiary of ArcLight Capital Partners (ArcLight) agreed to purchase a portfolio of operational wind farms in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. With affiliates of GlidePath Power Solutions, the company reached an agreement to purchase the portfolio.
