SECI floats bids for 2 MW solar project with 1 MW storage in Himachal Pradesh

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated bids for a 2 MW solar project in Kaza, Himachal Pradesh, as well as a 1 MW battery energy storage system (BESS). The work includes design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, as well as five years of operation and maintenance (O&M). The bidders must submit a tender processing fee of Rs 25,000 as well as Rs 3,400,000 as an earnest money deposit.

In addition, the successful bidder must deposit performance security equal to 3 per cent of the contract value. The performance guarantee is valid for 81 months. This period includes the first 18 months of project commissioning as well as the required O&M period. The modules used in the project must be obtained only from the models and manufacturers listed in MNRE’s List-I (Solar PV Modules) ALMM Order issued on March 10, 2021.

As per the tender guidelines, bids from both individuals and joint ventures are permitted. The bidder should have either execution experience as a developer or expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction execution of ground-mounted solar projects on a turnkey basis. The deadline for bid submissions is April 3, 2023.

In January 2023, JSW Renew Energy Five Limited received a letter of award (LoA) for a total 500MW/1,000MWh standalone battery energy storage systems with two projects each of capacities of 250 MW/500 MWh. The LoA has been received from Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited. The company will be entitled to receive a fixed capacity charge of Rs 1.08 million per MW per month for twelve years.
