The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing the Phase II of the Rooftop Solar Programme through which it provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) for installation of rooftop solar in the residential sector.
A common CFA amount is applicable for the entire country (apart from north-eastern states and hilly states/UT) as per the national rooftop solar portal:
- Individual household – For first 3 kW: Rs. 14,588/ kW and for capacity beyond 3 kW and upto 10 kW: Rs. 7,294/kW.
- Resident welfare associations/group housing societies – Rs. 7,294/kW for common facilities up to 500 kWp @ 10 kWp per house.
This CFA shall be applicable not only on projects sanctioned through national portal for rooftop solar but also rates discovered and vendors empanelled by discoms/state implementing agencies through tendering process.
