BHEL releases O&M tender for solar projects in Tamil Nadu

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has requested bids for the one-year operations and maintenance (O&M) of 12.5 MW of solar projects installed at its Trichy, Tamil Nadu, facility. According to the tender guidelines, the vendor should hire maintenance personnel to perform solar panel cleaning, vegetation removal, outer yard HT maintenance, and transformer oil filtration for a year  for the 5 MW and 7.5 MW solar projects. Bids must be submitted by February 21, 2023. Also, the bidders must submit Rs 51,462 as an earnest money deposit. Within 15 days of the bid’s acceptance, the successful bidder must submit a security deposit equal to 5 per cent of the contract value.

Only vendors with a state-issued electrical license will be eligible to participate in the bidding process. Bidders must have at least one year of experience performing annual maintenance on a solar power project of 1 MW or greater capacity in the previous ten years. In the event of a delay, 0.5 per cent of the line item value will be deducted from the bill or recovered from the security deposit as liquidated damages, up to a maximum of 10 per cent of the contract value.

In December 2022, BHEL floated bids for the O&M of a 5 MW solar power project at its Haridwar’s heavy electrical equipment plant. According to the tender guidelines, bidders must provide a deposit of Rs 45,175 as an earnest money deposit. Also, the successful bidder must submit an amount equal to 5 per cent of the contract value as a security deposit. The estimated contract cost is Rs 2.25 million for a period of one year.
