Bharat Coking Coal floats bids for 2.5 MW rooftop solar systems

Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India has issued a request for proposals for the installation and commissioning of 2.48 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering arrangements at 44 locations in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The project is expected to cost Rs 149.72 million. The successful bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operation and maintenance for the next five years. Bids must be submitted by February 22, 2023.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.87 million. As a performance security, the successful bidder must provide an amount equal to 3 per cent of the contract amount within 21 days of the letter of award.  In this tender, only Class-I and Class-II local suppliers are eligible to bid. A Class-I local supplier is a supplier or service provider whose goods, services, or works offered for procurement contain at least 50 per cent local content. A Class-II local supplier is one whose goods, services, or works offered for procurement have a local content of at least 20 per cent but less than 50 per cent.

In December 2022, Mahanadi Coalfields, a Coal India subsidiary, floated bids for the installation and commissioning of 2.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering on residential and non-residential buildings in Odisha. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 122.29 million.
