NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has floated bids for a 500 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar project to be set up anywhere in India. The scope of work also includes the operations and maintenance of the solar projects for three years from the date of commissioning, including the switchyard and power evacuation system until the interconnecting grid substation. The EPC contractor will also be in charge of identifying, acquiring, and fully transferring ownership or lease of the land to NTPC REL.
The bidders must submit bid security in accordance with the quoted capacities. Bidders quoting 100 MW must submit a bid security of Rs 50 million, bidders quoting 150 MW to 200 MW must submit a bid security of Rs 100 million, and bidders quoting 250 MW to 500 MW must submit a bid security of Rs 200 million. The bid submission deadline is March 24, 2023.
According to the tender guidelines, bidders must have developed or designed, built, commissioned, or supervised these activities for a grid-connected solar power project with capacity of 40 MW or greater. At least one project must have had a capacity of 10 MW or greater. Before the bid opening date, the reference project must have been in operation for at least six months. Bidders should also have completed an industrial project in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, cement, coal mining, including coal handling plant, and/or any other process industry.
Recently in January 2023, NTPC REL requested bids for the balance-of-system (BoS) package with land for interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects up to 1 GW across India except Rajasthan. The tender also has a greenshoe option for an additional 500 MW.
