Amp Energy commissions its fourth solar open access project in Maharashtra

Amp Energy India has completed a 5 MW solar power plant for BSV, a vaccine pharmaceutical major. This solar project completed in the fourth quarter of 2022 will be supplying solar power to BSV’s manufacturing facility in Ambernath, Maharashtra from Amp’s open access facility in Osmanabad district, Maharashtra. This collaboration will service approximately 65 per cent of BSV’s annual energy needs allowing it to save 35 per cent on its overall energy costs year over year. In addition to these economic benefits, the plant will contribute to the reduction of approximately 6,560 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide per year ensuring that BSV meets one of its sustainability targets through carbon mitigation.

Amp Energy India is one of the country’s leading renewable energy transition platform, with a portfolio of more than 2 GW spanned across 15 states. Amp India, headquartered in New Delhi has a diverse portfolio of C&I and utility customers.

In January 2023, Amp Energy India signed a power purchase agreement for a 200 MWp wind-solar hybrid project with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The developer was awarded this capacity as part of SECI’s 1.2 GW hybrid wind-solar tender (Tranche-V). Amp Energy will build and operate the capacity.
