Rajasthan floats a tender for 1.5 GW of Wind-Solar Hybrid projects with Storage

Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam (RUVNL) has invited bids to set up 1,500 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects anywhere in India with required storage for distribution companies (DISCOMs) to have flexibility in scheduling of power. The bid submission deadline is February 28, 2023. 

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must deposit Rs 500,000 along with 18 per cent GST for each project from 50 MW up to 99 MW and Rs 1.5 million plus 18 per cent GST for each project from 100 MW and above as a bid processing fee. As an earnest money deposit, they must provide Rs 1.2 million for each MW of the quoted capacity. 

Furthermore, the successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to Rs 3 million per MW as a performance bank guarantee before signing the power purchase agreement (PPA). RUVNL will enter into a PPA with the successful bidder within 60 days from the date of the issuance of the letter of award. The project must be commissioned within 24 months from the date of signing the PPA.

Earlier this month, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited signed a MoU with the Government of Rajasthan to set up a 1 GW renewable energy power plant in the state. The MoU was signed in a ceremony organised by the Bureau of Investment Promotion, Government of Rajasthan.
