The Goa state government has re-floated the bids to set up 600kW solar rooftop photovoltaic power plants at the district hospitals in the north and south Goa for more than Rs 50 million by modifying the tender document at the bidder’s request. The state government has requested bids for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar rooftop power plants with an aggregate capacity of 1,200kW, as well as operations and maintenance of five years at both hospitals.
The companies interested in bidding proposed a change in submitting a single performance bank guarantee of 10 per cent of the project cost for a five-year period as well as some relaxations in other clauses. The generation of 600kW solar power is expected to result in a 50 per cent reduction in electricity consumption at the North District Hospital and a 30 per cent reduction at the South District Hospital. The power plants will be outfitted with web-based remote monitoring instrumentation.
Recently in November 2022, the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) issued a request for proposals for the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of 2.2 kW grid-connected wind power plants. The state government is considering establishing wind power plants at Goa University as a demonstration project.
