Bids floated for solar projects in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (MPUVNL) has floated bids for approximately 1,110 MW of grid-connected solar projects under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) component C for feeder solarisation. These projects will be responsible for providing power to the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) across the state. According to the tender guidelines, bidders must pay a bid processing fee of Rs 5,000 per MW.

Additionally, they must also provide a bid participation fee of Rs 7,000 and a bid security amount of Rs 100,000 per MW. The winning bidder must provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs 500,000 per MW. The scope of work for the successful bidder includes design, engineer, supply, construct, erect, test, and commission the projects, as well as construct the bay and related switchgear at the substation, according to the scope of work. The work entails comprehensive operation and maintenance for a period of 25 years. Except for the first year of operation, the projects must achieve a minimum capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 15 per cent on an annual basis. The deadline for bid submissions is February 7, 2023. 

Recently in January 2023, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) inked strategic MoUs in the backdrop of the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023. The first MoU was signed with the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) to extend financial assistance of Rs 150.86 billion for upcoming Sarani and Amarkantak thermal power projects, system improvement works, technology upgradation, renovation and modernisation.

Additionally, in October 2022, the Trident Group announced that it has successfully completed its new solar power project of 8.87 MWp at Budhni, Madhya Pradesh. It has commissioned both the phases of the project comprising 5.48 MWp solar power plant (Phase I) and 3.39 MWp solar power plant (Phase II) for its captive use.
