NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tripura for development of floating and ground-mounted based renewable energy projects in Tripura. This MoU seeks to help the Government of Tripura in meeting its clean energy commitments and obligations.
Recently in November 2022, NTPC REL floated bids for a balance-of-system (BoS) package to establish 1.2 GW of solar power projects in Gujarat. These projects will be developed in four blocks of 300 MW each at Khavda power park located at the Rann of Kutch. The project’s scope of work comprises design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar plant, excluding the supply of photovoltaic modules.
Additionally, in July 2022, NTPC REL and National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) signed a MoU to collaborate on renewable energy and green ammonia. The collaboration seeks to work upon finding opportunities for supplying 90 MW renewable energy round the clock in a phased manner. The first phase would constitute 30 MW renewable energy and the second phase would constitute 60 MW renewable energy. Also, 50 TPD green ammonia synthesis for captive use will be deployed for producing NFL industrial products.
