TPREL to establish residential group captive solar plant

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) announced a solar power supply agreement with Vivarea Condominium, a residential society in Mumbai. The 3.125 MW solar plant will be built in Himayatnagar, Maharashtra and will provide clean energy to the community. The company will build, operate, and maintain this captive solar power plant.

The project will be completed by October 2023 and will provide green power to Vivarea Condominium for 40 per cent less than the current tariff. The plant is expected to generate approximately 7.5 MU of energy and offset 6.15 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide in the first year.

Recently in December 2022, TPREL announced that it received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) for the development of a 255 MW wind-solar hybrid power project in Karnataka. According to the company, the power generated by the project will be supplied to TPDDL, a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

In November 2022, TPREL received LoA from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited to set up a 150 MW solar project at Solapur, Maharashtra. The LoA was bagged through a tariff-based competitive bidding followed by an e-reverse auction.
