MAHAPREIT floats consultancy tender for solar projects

The Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) has floated bids to appoint consultants to establish 10 MW of distributed solar power projects under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana. According to the tender guidelines, bidders must submit Rs 200,000 as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance bank guarantee equal to 5 per cent of the contract value. Also, the successful bidder must sign an empanelment agreement with the MAHAPREIT within 15 days of the award letter. The contract will be valid for two years. 

Bidders must have a minimum of three assignments in the last five fiscal years providing professional consultancy services for distributed solar projects of up to 10 MW for any central or state government department or private organisation. They should also have prior experience working with distribution companies and regulatory agencies. MAHAPREIT stated that bidders will be liable for any consequences of errors and omissions resulting from their negligence up to 10 per cent of the contract value.The deadline for submitting bids online is January 24, 2023.

In August 2022, The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MAHAPREIT. According to this MoU, IREDA will be offering funding to MAHAPREIT for renewable energy projects that have to be carried out for state utilities, local governments, and renewable energy park infrastructure.

Also, in June 2022, MAHAPREIT issued a request for proposals to build, own, and operate a 1 MW green hydrogen plant in Maharashtra. According to the specifications in the document, the scope of work comprised design, engineering, fabrication, packing, forwarding, supply, transportation, handling, unloading, construction, erection, commissioning, testing, and training.
