Adani Electricity Mumbai floats bids for 1,500 MW RTC power procurement project

The Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) has requested bids for 1,500 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) power from grid-connected renewable energy projects, supplemented by firm power from any other source. The total capacity of 1,500 MW includes 750 MW with an additional 750 MW under the greenshoe option. The projects will be implemented on a build, own, and operate basis. The bidders must submit a document processing fee of Rs 300,000 with 18 per cent GST for each project. They must also submit Rs 500,000 per MW as an earnest money deposit per project.

The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs 1,000,000 per MW per project prior to the power purchase agreement being signed. The AEML will enter into a ten-year agreement with the winning bidder. The bid capacity must be at least 250 MW. Each project must have a minimum capacity of 50 MW and a maximum capacity of 1,500 MW. The developer will be required to supply renewable energy alongside firm power from any other energy source, while maintaining at least 90 per cent availability annually. The bid submission deadline is February 1, 2023.

Recently in December 2022, Adani Green Energy (AGEL) completed the construction of a 450 MW hybrid power plant near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The facility is AGEL’s third wind-solar hybrid power plant to be put into operation in the region. The hybrid power plant has a solar capacity of 420 MW and a wind capacity of 105 MW.
