DTC and Tata Motors collaborate for 1,500 electric buses

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has signed a definitive agreement with subsidiary of Tata Motors for operating 1,500 electric buses. Tata Motors, with its fully owned subsidiary, TML CV Mobility Solutions Limited has collaborated for the operation of 1,500 electric buses in New Delhi. As part of the agreement, TML CV Mobility will supply, operate and maintain 1,500 units of 12 metre low-floor air-conditioned electric buses for a period of 12 years. 

Tata Motors’ research and development facilities have worked to engineer innovative mobility solutions powered by alternate fuel technology, including battery-electric, hybrid, CNG, LNG and hydrogen fuel cell technology. Till date, Tata Motors has supplied more than 730 electric buses across multiple cities in India, which have cumulatively clocked more than 55 million km, with an uptime of over 95 per cent.

Recently in December 2022, Tata Motors announced that the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation signed a definitive agreement with its fully owned subsidiary, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Limited for operation of 921 electric buses in the city of Bengaluru. As part of the collaboration, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions will supply, operate and maintain 921 units of 12-metre low-floor electric buses for a period of 12 years.
