TCL floats bids for solar projects in Uttar Pradesh

Troop Comforts (TCL), a public sector undertaking, has invited bids for the implementation of 1.21 MW grid-connected rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects at various Hindustan Aeronautics locations in Uttar Pradesh. TCL is the Ministry of Defence’s designated agency for the implementation of grid-connected rooftop and small solar power projects. The winning bidders were responsible for evacuating power and establishing the associated transmission system. The tender includes 450 KW in HAL in Kanpur, 260 KW in Lucknow, 350 KW in Korwa, and 150 KW in Naini. 

They will also be responsible for the system’s operation and maintenance for the next 25 years. The total cost of the project is Rs 43.42 million. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of 3 per cent of the benchmark cost, which amounts to Rs 1.3 million. The bidder must provide a levelised tariff for a period of 25 years. During the feasibility study, they must also account for any increase in the individual capacities of the sites. The bid submission deadline is January 3, 2022. 

Recently in November 2022, SJVN Limited commissioned a 75 MW solar power project at Parasan solar park in Uttar Pradesh. With this project achieving its commercial operation, the power producer’s installed generation capacity stands at 2,091.5 MW. The project has been developed at a cost of Rs 3.92 billion.
