KREDL floats bids for 2 MW solar project with BESS

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has called for bids for the installation and commissioning of a 2 MW solar project with a 4.5 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will be located at the Pavagada Ultra Mega Solar Park in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district. The successful bidder is required to undertake the operations and maintenance of the project for a period of 12 years. The bid submission deadline is January 11, 2023. 

According to the tender guidelines, bidders must submit a bid security deposit of Rs 4.9 million. Also, the bidder must provide 5 per cent of the contract price as contract performance security within 30 days of receiving the letter of award. Bidders should also have previous experience as engineering, procurement, and construction contractors. Alternatively, they should have relevant experience as developers in designing, supplying, and commissioning grid-connected solar power projects of at least 2 MW cumulative capacity, with at least one project of 1.5 MW or greater at a single location.

The reference project by the bidder should already be in operation for at least 12 months before the bid submission date. The solar modules to be used for the project must be from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
