NTPC inaugurates 240 MW Devikot solar farm in Rajasthan

NTPC has commissioned its 240 MW Devikot solar farm in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district. The PV projects were established under the second phase of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Central Public Sector Undertaking Scheme. According to the CPSU Scheme’s Domestic Content Requirement, the projects use domestically manufactured PV cells and modules.

In 2019, NTPC won this capacity through a competitive bidding process based on viability gap funding conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. HILD Energy set up the projects as EPC with land mode.

Recently in December 2022, NTPC Limited completed the installation of 162.27 MW of solar capacity in Tamil Nadu. The plant is the first phase of NTPC’s 230 MW solar project in the Thoothukudi district of Ettayapuram. The Ettayapuram plant spans across roughly 900 acres of land and it comprises around 1.05 million solar panels.

Also, in September 2022, NTPC Limited successfully commissioned the first 150 MW of the 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 Solar PV Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
