HomiHydrogen to establish 1.5 GW electrolyser facility in India

HomiHydrogen, a joint venture of h2e Power, BlueBasic AMA Engineering, and Greenstat Hydrogen India announced the establishment of an electrolyser manufacturing facility with capacity of 1.5 GW per annum. The facility in India aims for production for domestic and export markets.

The project has a budget of $ 50 million and is expected to create 300 green jobs. In India, the company will produce four types of electrolysers that includes alkaline, AEM, PEM, and SOE. The company stated that homiHydrogen will begin production in 2023 and will deliver a product that is entirely ‘Made in India.’

Recently in December 2022, Cummins announced a partnership with Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL), an Indian subsidiary of the Maire Tecnimont Group, to build a proton exchange membrane electrolyser for the Gas Authority of India Limited to produce green hydrogen in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh.

Recently in November 2022, Erisha E-Mobility, a Rana Group e-mobility entity has entered the green hydrogen segment in a joint venture with Germany’s Greenbox Global Holding. Greenbox provides decentralised scalable green hydrogen plant implementation. Using Greenbox technology, the company will produce a wide range of hydrogen solutions such as hydrogen containers, energy storage systems, hydrogen gensets, and hydrogen vehicles. Erisha Hydrogen India aims to provide solutions for sustainable energy production, conversion, storage, and service systems.
