Adani and Cavendish collaborate for green hydrogen electrolyser technologies

Adani New Industries has signed a development and licensing agreement with Cavendish Renewable Technology (CRT), a Melbourne based hydrogen technology company. The partnership will include development of alkaline electrolysers, polymer exchange membranes (PEM), anion exchange membranes (AEM), and CRT’s innovative ‘C Cell’ technology for mass-scale production.

Adani New Industries has selected CRT as a technology partner for developing green hydrogen electrolyser technologies to meet the increasing demand in India and the Middle East-North Africa region. The agreement includes infrastructure costs for intellectual property development, licence fees, and royalties if CRT’s electrolyser technologies are successfully commercialised.

CRT plans to establish a pilot manufacturing plant in early 2024 for AEM electrolyser production. With the partnership, CRT can accelerate its research activities and shorten the commercialisation pathway for hydrogen electrolysers.
