Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited’s (TPDDL) auction for 255 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects was won by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). The price quoted by the company is Rs 3 per kWh. Avaada Energy had the second lowest quoted tariff at Rs 3.01 per kWh. TPDDL will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement with the winning bidder.
The TPDDL issued a tender in September 2022 to build, own, and operate 255 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects across India with a greenshoe option for an additional 255 MW. TPDDL has specified a capacity breakdown of 85 MW solar and 170 MW wind power in the tender. It would also have the option of adding an additional 255 MW of project capacity along similar lines as a greenshoe.
Recently in November 2022, TPREL received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) to set up a 150 MW solar project at Solapur, Maharashtra. The LoA was bagged through a tariff-based competitive bidding followed by an e-reverse auction.
