Amazon and Vibrant Energy collaborate for wind-solar hybrid projects

Amazon has announced its first wind-solar hybrid project with Vibrant Energy, a subsidiary of Macquarie’s Green Investment Group to be located in India. These two projects represent a total of 300 MW of renewable energy capacity and will be based in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. After getting operational, these projects are expected to generate 1,163,000 MWh of clean energy.

Combining this project with three other solar farms in Rajasthan, Amazon now has five utility-scale renewable energy projects in India, representing more than 720 MW of renewable energy capacity.

Recently in September 2022, Amp Energy India entered into a power purchase agreement with Amazon to sell renewable energy generated by a 100 MW solar power plant in Rajasthan. The plant is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2023.
