Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an order from the Greenko group for the development of an off-stream pumped storage project in Madhya Pradesh. The civil and hydromechanical works of the project will be executed through a consortium led by L&T under a stringent timeline of 30 months.
The Gandhisagar pumped storage project (PSP) is designed to meet a pumped storage capacity of 10,080 MWHr. The project envisages creation of an upper reservoir near Khemla block village, while the existing Gandhisagar reservoir will be the lower reservoir.
In April 2022, L&T signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the country’s premier technology and research institution, to collaborate on green hydrogen value chain research and development.
