BHEL floats bids for 1.25 Million DWS multicrystalline silicon wafers

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued a request for proposals for the supply of 1.25 million 157 mm diamond wire-sawn (DWS) multicrystalline silicon wafers. Only domestic original multicrystalline silicon wafer manufacturers are eligible to participate in the tender. After obtaining manufacturing clearance, the wafers must be delivered within 45 days. Within 30 days of the relevant announcement, the successful bidder must provide a bank guarantee in the amount of 5 per cent of the purchase order value.

To participate in the bidding process, vendors must have in-house photovoltaic-grade multi-crystalline wafer manufacturing capacity of at least 100 MW per year. Furthermore, the vendor must have supplied at least 500,000 156.75 mm/157 mm/157.75 mm multicrystalline black pieces. The bid submission deadline is December 3, 2022.

In August 2022, BHEL invited bids for a ten-year contract for operations and maintenance (O&M) of a 100 MW grid-connected solar power project at Raghanesda Solar Park (Phase-I) in Gujarat. The contract is valued at approximately Rs 111.33 million.
