APDCL floats bids for 1 GW solar projects

Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has issued a request for proposals from consultants to deliver services for 1 GW of grid-connected solar power projects in Assam. This project has been carried out in the Karbi Anglong district under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolp’ with the support of the Asian Development Bank.

The consultant will recommend the installation capacity of the solar power plant on the proposed land, based on the available land area and appropriate technology assessment. The selected consultant will also be required to prepare detailed project reports using APDCL’s land topography data and will grade the land by calculating the amount of filling, levelling and excavation required for the developing a solar power plant.

Recently in November 2022, APDCL announced a tender to procure energy from 100 MW of grid-connected floating solar projects that will be constructed on various water bodies across the state and operated for 25 years.
