The Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (KELTRON) has requested expressions of interest from the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) enterprises to install solar power projects and solar street lights in the state on a turnkey basis. The selected contractors are required to undertake the project operations and maintenance (O&M) for five years after successful commissioning. The empanelment will be valid for one year. There will be tender fees worth Rs 1,000 plus applicable goods and services tax that must be submitted by bidders.
Following their empanelment, KELTRON will conduct project-specific bidding to select EPC O&M contractors for the development of any new solar projects. These contractors will be appointed under two categories. For Category I, bidders will be required to install solar systems with a capacity of up to 100 kW or 50 solar street lights. For Category II, bidders will be required to install solar systems with a capacity greater than 100 kW or 100 solar street lights. Also, bidders have the option of applying for one or both categories. According to the bid terms, eligible participants must have a Kerala office that has been operational for the last three years. They should have at least one service centre throughout Kerala. The bid submission deadline is December 2, 2022.
Recently in August 2022, the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology floated bids for the solarisation of 9,348 grid connected agricultural pumps under component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) programme in Kerala.
