The US and Chile partner for green hydrogen projects

The Chile and the US intend to sign an agreement on energy cooperation next year to support the uptake of the green hydrogen industry. Both governments expressed their intention to sign an agreement on energy cooperation in 2023.

The meeting of officials was held in Santiago where they agreed on collaborative measures addressing climate change, crime, and security. The grants for academics and researchers working on climate solutions were also included. There were also plans that aimed to relaunch a joint science and technology council next year to strengthen public-private partnerships.

Recently in September 2022, Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) and Windlab Pty Ltd in Australia have teamed forces to build a renewable energy “super hub” in Queensland with more than 10 GW of wind and solar power capacity to enable industrial-scale green hydrogen manufacturing.
