NTPC REL floats bids for BoS package for wind projects in Karnataka

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the balance of system (BoS) package to establish 1,000 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects anywhere in Karnataka. The wind project’s scope of work comprises design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning. Starting with the 33 kV internal evacuation lines from the unit substation, pooling substation, reactive power compensation devices, wind monitoring masts, and external EHV transmission line to the ISTS substation, the contractor will be responsible for proving performance parameters. Under the wind BOS development package scope, the successful bidder will also be responsible for the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the entire system for a period of three years.

The proposed wind project by the bidders must be compatible with the installation of any wind turbine generator (WTG) machine size between 2.7 MW to larger WTG machine size currently available in the market. The WTG machine must be included in the Revised List of Wind Turbine Models and Manufacturers. The deadline for bid submissions is December 19.

Recently in October 2022, Pennar Industries Limited bagged an order from the NTPC REL for its proposed solar project of 500 MW AC / 625 MW DC. The project will be situated at Bhadla, Rajasthan. The company was reported to be the lowest bidder in the competitive bidding against the tender invited by NTPC REL.
