RUMSL declares winners for its 300 MW floating solar park

NTPC Renewable Energy, SJVN Green Energy, and Hinduja Renewables were declared as winners for the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar’s (RUMSL) auction for the 300 MW floating solar park (Phase II). The project will be implemented at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh. NTPC Renewable Energy won a capacity of 90 MW at Rs 3.69 per kWh, SJVN Green Energy won 83 MW, and Hinduja Renewables was entitled to 80 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 3.70 per kWh each. The tender for Phase II was notified in July 2022.

The grid-connected floating solar photovoltaic projects with a combined capacity of 100 MW each make up six of the 600 MW capacity and will be built across different locations at the Omkareshwar reservoir. For the projects, RUMSL will be supplying the evacuating infrastructure.

Recently in September 2022, winners were announced for RUMSL’s auction for the development of 750 MW of grid-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects in Madhya Pradesh.
