DIF Capital to acquire stake in Swedish solar firm Alight

DIF Capital Partners, a Dutch investment management company, has agreed to pay €150 million for the majority of the shares of Swedish solar company Alight. The investment company will acquire the stake by acquiring a number of existing shareholders in a secondary buyout. The funding will be used by Alight to accelerate its pipeline of solar projects in the Nordic region and across Europe.

Alight, a company with its headquarters in Stockholm, intends to reach its goal through developing and retaining ownership of projects. It is anticipated that this will help Alight make the transition to becoming a self-sufficient power producer.

In October 2022, DIF Capital Partners agreed to invest in renewable energy company Qair to expedite its growth and portfolio build-out. The company would make the investment via its DIF Infrastructure VII fund. Based in Paris, France, Qair is an independent power producer that develops, owns and operates multi-technology renewable energy projects.
