EE North America and Elio Energy to construct solar assets in the US

Elio Energy and EE North America have teamed up to develop a 2 GW solar power pipeline and energy storage assets in Arizona and its surrounding states in the US. The projects’ construction work is anticipated to begin gradually between 2023 and 2025. Elio Energy Group is a greenfield utility-scale renewable project developer that focuses on solar and battery energy storage projects throughout the southern US. The company is presently developing more than 2.5 GW of capacity, and it also has a pipeline of 6 GW projects in the pre-development stage.

Earlier this year, the Danish energy company European Energy’s subsidiary, EE North America, entered the US market. By 2026, the company expects to build 10 GW of renewable energy capacity across the country, assisting local and state governments in the US in reaching their net-zero emissions objectives.

In August 2022, Longroad Energy Holdings announced a $500 million equity investment from MEAG, an asset management subsidiary for Munich Re entities. Infratil, a listed entity managed by Morrison & Co., and New Zealand Superannuation Fund (NZ Super Fund), would join MEAG to support Longroad’s strategic expansion of its renewable energy portfolio.
