Triton Electric Vehicle India has signed a Letter of Intent with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to purchase 300 kW lithium-ion battery packs for semi-truck projects in India. The contract for the battery pack is worth approximately Rs 80.6 billion. According to the contract, BEL will be delivering battery packs to Triton within 24 months and these battery packs will be manufactured at BEL’s Pune facility.
Also, BEL signed a memorandum of understanding with Triton Electric Vehicle to manufacture hydrogen fuel cells. The agreement between the companies aims to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions for a variety of applications such as e-mobility and energy storage.
Recently in August 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NHPC Limited and BEL for the setting up of a GigaWatt scale vertically integrated solar manufacturing unit.
