Pennar Industries emerged as winner for NTPC REL’s solar project

Pennar Industries Limited has bagged an order from the NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) for its proposed solar project of 500 MW AC / 625 MW DC. The project will be situated at Bhadla, Rajasthan. The company was reported to be the lowest bidder in the competitive bidding against the tender invited by NTPC REL. The anticipated time for the completion of the project is around 12.5 months. The scope of this project comprises design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning along with a 3-year operation and maintenance contract. 

Recently in July 2022, NTPC REL and National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on renewable energy and green ammonia. The collaboration seeks to work upon finding opportunities for supplying 90 MW renewable energy round the clock in a phased manner. The first phase would constitute 30 MW renewable energy and the second phase would constitute 60 MW. Also, 50 TPD green ammonia synthesis for captive use will be deployed for producing NFL industrial products.
