Tata Motors Limited and Tata Power have entered into a power purchase agreement for a 7 MW captive solar power project at its Pantnagar plant in Uttarakhand. This installation is expected to generate 215 million units of electricity. It will help in mitigating over 0.17 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
Tata Power is working closely with Tata Motors for installing solar rooftop projects at some of their plants in India. These projects represent a significant step towards building a resilient and sustainable future for these manufacturing plants. As of now, Tata Power has cumulatively installed 45 MW of solar rooftop across Tata Motors PV and CV plants in Pune, Pantnagar, Jamshedpur and Dharwar.
Recently in September 2022, Tata Power Solar Systems Limited won a letter of award worth Rs 5.96 billion from NHDC Limited for the establishment of a 125 MWp floating solar project. NHDC invited bids for this project at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district earlier this year. It will be one of the largest floating solar power projects in India.
