INKEL floats empanelment tender for 14 MW of wind power projects

INKEL, a public-private partnership venture promoted by the Kerala government has floated empanelment tender to develop 14 MW of wind power projects in the Palakkad district of Kerala. The successful bidder has to undertake a ten-year performance guarantee test and operations and maintenance (O&M). Additionally, the chosen developer must transfer any applicable original equipment manufacturer warranties for specific pieces of equipment to INKEL after the O&M period, as well as provide a one-year warranty for the entire wind power project starting on the date of commercial operation.

As per the guidelines, the contract will be acceptable for two years from the date of empanelment, after which INKEL will audit the applicants for renewal. INKEL reserves the right to update the empanelment list for any of the categories in the future by adding any qualifying companies or removing any non-performing companies. Also, the average annual turnover of bidders over the last three financial years should be at least Rs 500 million. The wind turbine generators offered by the contractors should be type-approved and included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers. The deadline for bid submission is October 15, 2022.

Recently in September 2022, Aditya Birla Group awarded KP Energy a contract worth Rs 2.22 billion to develop wind energy projects. The project will be established at the Bhungar and Fulsar site in Mahuva, Bhavnagar, Gujarat in accordance with the 2018 Gujarat Hybrid Power Policy.
