The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has released the Scheme Guidelines for Implementation of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme (Tranche II) under ‘National Programme on High Efficiency Solar PV Modules’ for achieving manufacturing capacity of Giga Watt scale in High Efficiency Solar PV Modules.
After the successful bid completion under Tranche I of this scheme, an additional Rs 195 billion has been allocated under Tranche II as per the Union Budget announcement on February 1, 2022. This is being done to establish a larger manufacturing base for solar PV modules. Unlike Tranche I, where IREDA was the implementing agency, SECI has been appointed as the implementing agency in Tranche II.
