APDCL floats bids for solar projects

The Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL) has issued a request for proposals to select an agency to conduct an aerial topographic survey using drone-based technology in order to establish MW-scale solar power projects in the state. The project must be completed within 30 days of contract award. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 100,000. Also, as performance security, the successful bidder must provide an amount equal to 10 per cent of the contract value.

If the contractor fails to perform the related services within the period specified in the contract, APDCL will deduct from the contract price, as liquidated damages, a sum equivalent to 1 per cent of the contract value for each week of delay, subject to a maximum of 10 per cent of the contract value.The bidders must physically survey and inspect the location or route and understand the scope of work by discussing with the concerned field officials to reduce post-contract award contingencies.

The bidders must have completed similar work in Assam for the state government, government undertakings, utilities, and corporations in the previous three years. During the previous three fiscal years, bidder’s average annual turnover should have been at least Rs 1.345 million. Bidders net worth over the last three fiscal years should be positive. Firms are not permitted to form a joint venture or consortium. The deadline for submitting bids online is October 6, 2022.

Recently in July 2022, Azure Power’s 90 MW solar power facility was inaugurated by the chief minister of Assam. With this project, Azure Power’s operating capacity in India now exceeds 2.9 GW. It is the largest project in the state of Assam that was launched in a dedicated ceremony co-hosted by Azure Power and APDCL.
