UPNEDA calls bids for 25 solar cold storage units

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a request for proposals for the turnkey design, supply, installation, and commissioning of 25 solar cold storage units. The bidders will be required to submit an earnest money deposit equivalent to 1 per cent of the estimated contract value. The successful bidder will be required to provide security in the form of a bank guarantee valid for 18 months from the date of agreement execution equal to 3 per cent of the contract’s total value.

The project is expected to cost Rs 50 million and will take a period of four months to be completed. The successful bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operation and maintenance for five years following its commissioning. Bidders must have previously supplied and installed the same or similar category products for 30 per cent of the bid quantity which is eight solar cold storage units during previous five fiscal years to be eligible.

According to the standard test conditions, the rating of each module should not be less than 250W, and the efficiency of each module should be 16 percent. The output wattage of solar modules should be greater than 90 per cent after ten years and less than 80 per cent after 25 years.The bid submission deadline is October 12, 2022.

Recently in July 2022, SJVN Limited secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to commission two solar projects in Uttar Pradesh. The two EPC contracts are expected to cost Rs 6.91 billion including execution of the solar project as well as two years of operation and maintenance. SJVN secured an EPC contract with Solarworld Energy Solutions to establish a 75 MW solar project in Gurah, Jalaun district, and a 50 MW project in Gujrai, Kanpur district.
